Growing up in Princeton, New Jersey, Rex spent his early years immersed in football, a sport that shaped his competitive spirit and teamwork skills. It wasn’t until his junior year of high school that he discovered rowing, thanks to his coach and mentor, Justin Ochal. His guidance not only introduced him to the sport, but also led him to Ted Sobolewski, who encouraged me to pursue his collegiate rowing career at Northeastern University. The transition from a novice rower to a competitive athlete was challenging, yet rewarding. Through hard work and dedication, he progressed from the land squad to ultimately captaining the team during his senior year. During his senior year NU achieved the highest finish at the IRA Championships in decades, a milestone that fills him with gratitude and pride.
He resides in Boston, Massachusetts and enjoys taking a trip down the Charles annually in the Alumni HOCR event. Beyond his rowing journey, he is a Private Wealth Advisor and a founding member of Generation Capital Advisors. His experiences in rowing have instilled in me the importance of giving back, and he is committed to supporting the Northeastern University Rowing Association (NURA) as a young alumnus. The lessons he learned through rowing have been invaluable, and he looks forward to contributing to the program that played such a significant role in his personal and professional development.
